So I have obviously been very busy this summer, but not so great at updating the old blog. So here is a quick recap of what we have been up to.
Going to the beach with the boys. Despite Carter's face in this pic he LOVES the beach.
Playing with the Sit N Spin (pottery wheel) in Grandma's art room
Getting drenched at the Seacoast Seafood Festival. We had to put the awning in front of Carter's face because the rain was blowing in sheets right at us. Even though it was raining, Mike and I were very determined to stuff our faces full of delicious seafood treats. It was fantastic.
Mike was still able to smile after walking through the rain.
The rain didn't bother Carter at all :)
This next story is funny. I had a killer headache but really wanted to get out of the house to meet Shelbs for a bit. She had an hour and a half to kill between work and Mutual, so we went to Wendy's for a quick bite to eat. I had left the house very quickly and knew my bag was a little underpacked but I didn't think I would be out that long so it wasn't a big deal. I grabbed a stack of size 2 diapers for Hamilton and threw them on the front seat of the car in case I needed backup but didn't bring a ton of other stuff. While at Wendy's Shelbs and I hear Hamilton FILL his diaper so I take him to the bathroom to change him. There is no changing station, so I am changing him on a mat on the floor (nasty) I am rifling through my bag only to find Shelbs used the extra outfit I usually have so I have nothing to change him into. I also only have Carter's diapers in my bag (size 5). Hamilton's diapers are still in the car. So...after a long while I finally decided to put Hamilton in a size 5 diaper (which was huge) and then crafted an origami wrap shirt out of two cloth diapers (I usually use them for burp cloths). When I finally emerged from the bathroom Shelbs burst into laughter and insisted that I take pictures. Yeah, I know not exactly Mom of the Year. I have my camera on me but not a change of clothes for my child. Thank goodness for Target right down the street sleep n plays to change him into after dinner. Less than an hour after this happened poor Hamilton was back in his own diapers and in a fresh outfit, but it was a little embarassing until then. I am normally more pulled together, but when I have a headache, pretty much anything is a possibility.
Hamilton didn't mind.

Ha! That story is hilarious. Necessity really is the mother of invention.
Carter looks so big and grown-up! I can't believe that he's almost two.
